:: Teresa Sobol is not allowed to leave Belarus
MK, www.nn.by, translation, 2010-02-01
Director of the Polish House in Iventse, Teresa Sobol, today was interrogated in the police department of Volozhin. Chief of the Investigative Division, Major Alexander Shulga told that she was denied the right to travel outside the country. She also was fingerprinted.

Teresa Sobol is suspected in accordance with the second part of Article 210 of the Criminal Code, in office abuse. More than five years ago the leadership of the Union of Poles gave her cash assistance - six hundred thousand rubles. This investigation considered it as a violation, although these events were more than five years ago and the statute of limitations has passed. Teresa Sobol said that the money was given to her in late 2004, because during the whole year she has not received salary.

Teresa Sobol said: "I just feel that there is a desire of the authorities to diminish the human dignity, to humble man, to ascribe to him what he never did. But perhaps there are honest people too. Examination, which compared the nature of the handwriting, has acknowledged that it was not I put a signature. How could I put a signature in Grodno?

Secondly, tomorrow our group "Kresavyanka" leaves for a charity concert in Poland, and perhaps they thought that I as well would go, and in such a way I was given a ban to exit. But I was not going to go, because I can not in such a critical situation to leave the Polish House. Today I feel the support of people, their prayers, deeds, from which I feel strength."
